Star Wars Canon Update

Recently, Lucasfilm has announced that all of the Expanded Universe (EU) content is now considered Non-Canon.  For those who aren't aware what Canon and Non-Canon is, Canon is when books, videogames, or movies actually happened in the series timeline.  Non-Canon is when something never actually happened in that series, which can result in a different plot line.  An example of this is the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed videogame series, which is indeed set in the Star Wars Universe, but is a different plot line, and never actually  happened in the main story line (movies).  Before Lucasfilm announced it, all Expanded Universe material was considered Canon.  The reason they changed this is because Lucasfilm wanted to create a new story.  This way, people wouldn't already know what to expect in the Sequel Trilogy, which is set in the same time as the Expanded Universe (after Episode 6).

According to Wikipedia: "The official Star Wars canon consists of the seven released Star Wars theatrical feature films, the Star Wars animated film and television series The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, and any other material released after April 25, 2014, unless otherwise stated"(Wikipedia).

If you want to know more about what is Non-Canon and what is Canon, check out either Wikipedia, or Wookieepedia, The Star Wars Wiki.

Star Wars Monthly News and Important Announcement

Star Wars: The Force Awakens finally came out last Friday, and many Star wars Fans can't get enough of it.  Sure, there were a few sad moments, and some irritating moments, but it was by far a very good movie.  Disney also announced that they will also be making standalone films, which will release a year in between the main movies.  The first standalone Star Wars film will be Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is set between Episode 3 and Episode 4, and is about a group of rebel pilots who discover the plans of the Empire's newest weapon, the Death Star.  This is only one of the many upcoming standalone Star Wars movies, with a standalone movie about Han Solo sometime in 2018 (between Episode's 8 [2017] and 9 [2019]), and a Boba Fett standalone movie sometime 2020.  Although these are the only standalone movies announced at the moment, there is no doubt Lucasfilm will make more of these.

I also want to take your time real quick to tell you all something.  The Prequel Trilogy is not that bad!  I know a lot of you don't like the Prequel Trilogy, but if you ignore Jar Jar, and the CGI, and other things, its not that bad.  The purpose of a prequel film is to explain what happened before the first movie and explains what happened would have caused the issue in the first movie.  It also shows how cool minor characters from the original movie were in their prime, for example: Obi-wan Kenobi, who was old in the Original Trilogy, but was awesome in the Prequel Trilogy. It also explains what the characters are talking about if they are mentioning something important from the past, again, like how Obi-wan mentioned the Clone Wars in A New Hope.  Some fans could have been wondering what the Clone Wars was, so the prequels help explain that. The prequels also showed how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader, and how the Jedi Order was destroyed and how the Empire came to be.  I know some people don't like the Prequel Trilogy, but with a new Star Wars Trilogy arriving, I thought it was about time to tell you guys this.  So please, accept the prequels so we can stop this fighting, or at least not make fun of people who do like them.  Because all of these movies are part of something amazing, Star Wars.  Until next time, May the force be with you!

Star Wars Battlefront Review

Since Star Wars Battlefront is finally here, I decided to write a review for you guys so you know whats good about the game and the issues it has.  Enjoy!

Star Wars Battlefront is a good, game.  It has great graphics, multiple modes from trying to destroy or protect an At-At, to going around a map guns blazing.  Now, even though Star Wars Battlefront has its good side, it also as a bad side.  As I was playing, I keep freezing due to the bad server connection, and its not on my end.  I don't know about you guys, but that can get really annoying when your trying to play the game.  Now, this may not happen to everyone, but some people, not just me, have this problem, and its very annoying.  Sadly, EA is still giving us any word on if they're working on this issue, and if it isn't fixed, then a lot of fans will not get the full Star Wars experience that they deserve.  Now, beside this frustrating issue, Star Wars Battlefront is still fun to play.  You can customize your character and load outs, and the battles are very amazing, like you were actually participating at that battle in the movies.  You can play as Darth Vader, the Emperor, and Boba Fett for the enemies, and Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo for the heroes.  There is also a mode called "Fighter Squadron", where you fly through the skies dog fighting enemy ships.  You get the X-wing, A-wing, and the Snowspeeder (only on certain maps) for the heroes, and the TIE fighter and TIE interceptor for the villains.  You also get to play as the Millennium Falcon and Boba Fett's Slave I as hero/villain ships.

Star Wars Battlefront is a good game, but due to its annoying and frustrating bad server connection issue, it gets a 7.5/10.  Now, I am willing to change it once EA decides to fix the bug, but until then, the rating stays.  I would recommend the game, but, you should probably wait until they fix the bugs first, so that it gives you a better Star Wars experience.  Until next time, may the force be with you!

Star Wars Monthly News

Hello fellow star wars fans, this month a new game has been released, called Disney Infinity 3.0.  Now some of you may be wondering, ''Why would he be writing about a Disney game?'', well, unlike the first 2 Disney Infinity games, 3.0 is about Star Wars! If you have played the Disney Infinity games in the past, you would know that Disney Infinity is like the Skylanders series, where you bring toys to life through a ''portal''.  You can create crazy worlds through the Toy Box, or you could play through play sets based off of Disney Movies such as Cars, Toy Story, The Lone Ranger, Monsters University, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Incredibles from 1.0, and The Avengers, Ultimate Spider-man, and Guardians of the Galaxy from 2.0. But now, finally things start to heat up with 3.0, where you can play through the star wars universe!  There are 3 star wars playsets that will be in Disney Infinity 3.0, all covering each trilogy.  The first playset comes with the starter pack, which is the Twilight of the Republic playset, which covers the prequel trilogy/Star Wars the Clone Wars series.  The figures for this set are Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano (both come with starter pack), Obi-wan Kenobi and Yoda (both sold separately).  Then theres the Rise against the Empire playset, which covers the original trilogy.  The figures for this set are Luke Skywalker, Princess Lei Organa (both come with playset), Han Solo and Chewbacca (both sold separately).  The final playset is an untitled Episode 7 playset that will be released later in the year.  There are also Star Wars: Rebel characters such as Ezra, Kanan, Zeb and Sabine.  There will also be playable enemies in the game such as Darth Maul, Darth Vader, and Boba Fett.  Also, all characters are playable in every playset once you have collected that characters crossover coin in that playset.

Thats all for this post, until next time, may the force be with you!

Star Wars Battlefront E3 2015 Multiplayer Gameplay Demo

It is time ladies and gentlemen!  Finally, we are given actual gameplay for the upcoming game, Star Wars Battlefront!  I was at first skeptical about this game when I heard some of its problems, but after seeing this, I am blown away at what DICE has done.  As you will see in the video below, a massive multiplayer battle is going down on the ice planet Hoth.  The video will show you all, and I mean all, perspectives in this game, from 3rd person, to 1st person, from AT-AT to Snowspeeder, from TIE fighter to X-wing, from Rebel soldier to Snow trooper, this demo has everything!  This gameplay looks as if your taking part in the actual battle of Hoth.  Your a rebel, walking into the battlefield, with TIE fighters and X-wings flying over you, with enemy Snow troopers attacking you.  Then you need to take uplinks (basically like domination), and then your attacked by Darth Vader, with Luke Skywalker going in to stop him.  This gameplay is by far the most intense Star Wars gameplay I've ever seen in a Star Wars game.  Now with further ado, I present you the E3 2015 Star Wars Battlefront Multiplayer Gameplay demo!

Star Wars Monthly News: New Star Wars Battlefront game info

As you all know, the upcoming reboot of our beloved Star Warts Battlefront series is coming up, and DICE has revealed some things that we will see in the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront.

No Campaign!

Thats right!  DICE wants to focus entirely on multiplayer than focusing on a good story.

Original Trilogy DLC!

By the time the new DLC comes out, almost all of us have all probably seen the new movie, and I'm all for the Original Trilogy, but I think that they should make the DLC about the New Trilogy or even the Prequel Trilogy, and not just focus mainly on the Original Trilogy and the New Trilogy.

No Space Combat!

Now I know alot of you guys want there to be space battles in the new SWB game, but sadly, DICE has decided not to add it in there, I'm not entirely sure why, but I do know that they may give you the chance to fly ships around the ground maps, so at least thats something.

1st and 3rd person views!

SWB will give you the option to switch to either beloved 3rd person mode, or more modern first-person shooter games 1st person view.  This way players can play they way they like.

Less Maps!

As the original SWB games had over 20 different maps, the new SWB will have 8 maps, with more coming from the DLC packs.

And that is some things you guys will see in the upcoming new Star Wars game, Star Wars Battlefront.  Be aware though that these aren't all the things that will be in SWB, and they may eventually change some of these, but for the time being, this all is staying.  So what do you guys think, are you looking forward to the game, not? Comment in the comment section below.  Until next time, may the force be with you!

Hello fellow star wars fans, and welcome back to Star Wars Central!  Lucasfilm has recently announced their two upcoming star wars movies: an untitled Episode VII movie and a new standalone movie called Star Wars: Rogue One.  Although Lucasfilm hasn't really given us much detail on these two films, we do know that Episode VII is directed by Rian Johnson, and Rogue is about the leader of Rogue Squadron (obviously).  Anyways, thats all for this post.  I will post more about these two movies when more details about these movies are released.  Until then, what movie are you more exited about: Star Wars: Episode VII, or Star Wars: Rogue One?  Put your answer down in the comment section below.

Star Wars Monthly News

Hello fellow star wars fans, and welcome to Star Wars Central!  A lot has happened these past few weeks, with the return of two old characters:

First off, the season finale for Star Wars: Rebels on Disney XD, premiered not too long ago, with two special guest stars: Darth Vader and Ashoka Tano!  It has been stated that the mysterious Fulcrum is Ashoka Tano, the first leader of the rebellion.  As we can see, Ashoka has obviously aged since the last time we saw her in the previous show, Star Wars: the Clone Wars.  Although, there has been some changes to her design, such as different facial tattoos, and two new white lightsabers instead of green ones.  It is not stated yet if she will become one of the main characters of the show, but I am certain that she will be making minor appearances in each episode.  Now with the death of one of the shows main antagonists, the Inquisitor, now comes a new villain that we all know too well, Darth Vader!  Now, it isn't told yet if he will also become a main character on the show, but just like Ashoka, he will probably make minor appearances in each episode.

Star Wars Monthly News

Hello fellow star wars fans, as you know, I recently talked about how Disney was possibly going to make some star wars standalone movies about certain characters.  Even though Disney hasn't given a lot of details about the subject, they have announced that they WILL make at least two standalone star wars movies that will focus on a certain character in the Star Wars Franchise.  Now, by my guess, at least one of these movies will be about Obi-wan Kenobi, probably during the time he was in exile on Tatooine (now I know what your thinking, ''Well this movie is going to be boring, Obi-wan didn't do anything while he was in exile.", well, your wrong.  As a matter of fact, Obi-wan did a lot of things while he was in exile.  He fought Darth Maul when he tracked him down to Tatooine, he went to help Order 66 Jedi survivors escape the Empire and find a safe hiding place to hide from the Empire, and he got into a few fights with Sand People and even fought a Jedi who turned to the dark side named A'Sharad Hett.  But we still don't know what will actually happen in this movie.

So what star wars character do you guys think will be for the other standalone movie?  Comment below and see if your right.  Also don't forget to follow our blog page on Facebook, and comment on what you want to see next on Star Wars Central.  May the force be with you!
