Star Wars: Secret of the Lightsaber #1: Lightsaber Colors and Meanings

As we all know, the lightsaber is one of the most deadly and interesting weapons in Star Wars.  And not to mention the cool lightsaber colors such as blue and green blades that are used by the Jedi, the crimson red blades wielded by the Sith, and we can never forget about Mace Windu's purple bladed lightsaber, and the many other colors like black, white, yellow, orange, gold, bronze, and silver.  But what some of us don't know is what these colors actually mean.  Today your going to finally know what these colors mean, so lets start with the common ones first:

Blue:
Blue is the color of the Jedi Guardian.  Jedi Guardian's mainly focus on lightsaber training and protecting civilians.  They're often known as the warriors of the Jedi Order, since they mainly focus on combat. The Jedi Guardians are the most skilled in lightsaber combat in the entire Jedi Order. These crystals are found on the planet Illum.

A blue-bladed lightsaber is used by Jedi Guardians, who mainly focus on combat

Green:
Green is the color of the Jedi Consular.  Jedi Consular's mainly focus on force abilities and using negotiation to solve conflicts.  Their main goal is to not use their weapon but will not hesitate to use if if they need to.  Jedi Consular's have much more force abilities than Jedi Guardians, but their dueling skills aren't as persistent.  These crystals are found on Illum.

A green-bladed lightsaber is used by Jedi Consulars, who mainly focus on force-abilities

Red:
Red is the color of the Sith and Dark Jedi.  The reason for this is because red lightsaber crystals are more compatible with dark energy (used by the Sith and Dark Jedi) and even have the power to break a Jedi's lightsaber (but is very rare).  Sith focus on the dark side of the force and can do things the Jedi can't, like shoot force lightning or force-choke people.  These crystals are found on Illum (but are rare to find).

A red-bladed lightsaber is used by the Sith and Dark Jedi, who focus on the dark side of the force

Now for the uncommon/rare lightsaber colors:

Yellow:
Yellow is the color of the Jedi Sentinel.  Jedi Sentinel's focus on different abilities such as tracking, technology, and surveillance.  Their main goal is to seek out and destroy traces of the dark side. They rarely operate at the Jedi Temple, since they usually go undercover in situations.  Because of this, not many Jedi even know about their existence, as they do this on purpose to keep a low profile and patrol the galaxy.  Basically, they're the Jedi who are willing to do what others are unwilling to do. These crystals are found on Illum.

A yellow-bladed lightsaber is used by Jedi Sentinels, who seek out and destroy traces or the dark side

Purple:
Purple is the color of the Jedi who use both light side and dark side techniques.  They are usually more aggressive with their fighting style, and rely on brute strength to over-power the enemy. This crystal is very rare and is barely ever seen.

A purple-bladed lightsaber is used by Jedi who use both light side and dark side techniques

Orange:
Orange is the color of the Jedi who focus on negotiation and combat.  It is often assumed that the orange lightsaber belongs to the Sentinel Class, but is not as often used as the yellow bladed lightsaber. These crystals are found on Illum.

A orange-bladed lightsaber is used by Jedi who focus on negotiation and combat

Gold:
Gold is the color of the Jedi who use very strong light side based skills.  These crystals are very rare, and are barely ever seen.

Gold is used by Jedi who use very strong light side based skills

Bronze:
Bronze is used by Jedi who are very powerful and rely on great physical strength.  This crystal is very rare, and is only used by one Jedi.

A bronze lightsaber is used by Jedi who are very powerful and rely on great physical strength/
Below: Lowbacca, the only Jedi ever to wield a bronze lightsaber

Silver:
Silver is used by Jedi who are very calm and focus on the living force as a whole.  These crystals can be found on Illum.

A silver lightsaber is used by Jedi who are very clam and focus on the living force as a whole

White:
White is used by force-users who have a very narrow single-minded view on the force.  The users of this color often serve a master or a group with complete and udder obedience.  These crystals are found on Illum.

A white-bladed lightsaber is used by force-users who have a very narrow single-minded view on the force

Black:
Black (also called the darksaber) is used by force-users who are very narrow-minded but instead is devoted to ones self, rather than serving a group or a master.  These crystals are very rare and only appear once.  It appears in the Star Wars: the Clone Wars TV show.

A black-bladed lightsaber, or a darksaber, is used by force-users who are very narrow-minded and is devoted to one self

I hope you all enjoyed this post as much as I did making it.  Now you know what these lightsaber colors represent.  But we aren't finished yet!  Check back soon to see the next part in my Star Wars: Secret of the Lightsaber series!  Until then, may the force be with you!

Star Wars Monthly News

I am sorry everyone that I have not been posting for a while, but dang do I have a lot of news for you guys.  First off, the new Star Wars show Star Wars: Rebels has finally been released on Disney XD with 3 episodes already.  A 14 year old orphan named Ezra was stealing some Imperial supply crates when a group of rebels come along and try to steal those crates too, ending with Ezra hitching a ride onto their ship, The Ghost.  After a long fight, Kanan, a Jedi who survived Order 66, has taken Ezra as his Padawan and teaching him the ways of the force.  Although now that word is out that there is a Jedi and his apprentice alive, the Empire has called upon The Inquisitor, a deadly assassin trained by Darth Vader to hunt down Jedi who survived Order 66.  So far in this series a lot has happened from High Tech weapons that have wiped out an entire species, to a stolen TIE Fighter, to even a rescue mission to save a great Jedi Master, I'm sure I'm speaking for all Star Wars fans when I say, I can't wait to see whats happening next in this series!

In other news, DICE, creators of the upcoming Star Wars game, Star Wars Battlefront, for Next-Gen Consoles only (Xbox One, Windows and Playstation 4) have finally announced that it will come out sometime Holiday 2015, which is exiting news seeing that they were looking at moving it to 2016 since they wanted to release it by the time the new movie was going to be released.  They also announced that they would not include the Clone Wars or any of the Prequel Trilogy in the main campaign of the game, which has disappointed me, but there is a chance they will be adding the Clone Wars as a DLC pack like DICE's other famous Battlefield series.

Well, thats all the news for now, but remember to follow my Facebook page: Click Here, and get all the latest news on Star Wars.  Remember, may the force be with you, always!

Star Wars Monthly News

Hello Star Wars fans!  It is now September, which means I got some news for you.  First off, the new series Star Wars: Rebels, will soon air on Disney Channel (for the movie) and then stay on Disney XD.  There are so many news being posted on Facebook about this new show.  The Inquisitor (one of the main bad guys on the show) looks very fascinating with his one-to-double-bladed spinning lightsaber and cool British (or whatever they call it in Star Wars) bad guy accent.  And then there is Kanan Jarrus with his blue two-piece-put-together lightsaber and Ezra Bridger with his blue colored lightsaber that has another lightsaber attached to it which looks like a hilt guard.  So far there are a lot of cool and new types of lightsabers in this new series.  Again, the Star Wars: Rebels movie will air on Disney Channel on October 13, 2014 and then the series will be on Disney XD.  The show is to be set fourteen years after Episode III.

Here is a video showing Ezra interact with an Imperial Pilot:

The end of an era (R.I.P. Lucas Arts)

First off, let me just say that I had no idea that this happened, which is why I am mentioning it now.  For those who do not know this, Lucasarts, has been shutdown by Disney.  Which means that the two games Star Wars 1313 and Star Wars: First Assault, and maybe future popular games that never saw creation.  I am as sad as all you Star Wars fans may be, but we cannot let Lucas Arts die in vain, we must be strong, as these are dark times in the Star Wars universe.

Lucas Arts, a era when Star Wars fans could enjoy good quality Star Wars games, R.I.P.

Obi-wan (Ben) Kenobi Tribute

This is for Obi-wan Kenobi, one of the best Jedi ever known in the Star Wars Universe.  From being a Padawan in Episode I and fighting Darth Maul who had a double bladed lightsaber, to being a Jedi Knight in Episode II and fought both the bounty hunter Jango Fett, and Count Dooku, to being a Jedi Master in Episode III who earned a seat on the Jedi High Council and fighting Count Dooku, General Grievous, and his own Padawn, Anakin Skywalker, and even survived Oder 66/ the Great Jedi Purge, to being a mentor to Luke Skywalker in Episode IV and fought Darth Vader and sacrificed himself to save Luke, Leia, Chewy, Han, and the two droids so that they could escape, and becoming a Force Ghost (which is rare to Jedis) and even helped Luke blow up the Death Star, and there is still so much more that he is awesome for.  So, in tribute to Obi-wan (Ben) Kenobi, I present to you this video made by afrosmaximus:

Happy 4th!/ Star Wars Monthly News

Happy 4th everyone! First off I have some bad news to all you prequel move lovers.  I researched around the web and found out that the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront reboot game that we all have been wanting so much might not include anything to do with the prequel trilogy and just focus on the original and new movies.  This struck me very hard as I myself am a prequel fan with the Clone Wars.  But this could change, since the developers haven't confirmed it yet.  Also on SWBF, an article from Gameranx.com has reviled that SWBF's release date may be delayed.  It is said that it will come out in summer 2015, but since Episode VII will come out in December 2015, that might cause the game to also be released sometime around the movies release.  But until they have finally confirmed it, stay tuned on more SWBF news.

On other news, Harrison Ford (A.K.A. Han Solo) broke his leg on the door of the Millennium Falcon during the shooting of Episode VII, producers say that ''Harrison is doing well and is looking forward to returning to the set soon''. So lets all hope he gets better soon.  Until next time, stay tuned for more Star Wars Monthly News!

This month I have lots of new news about the upcoming new star wars show, Star Wars: Rebels.  I have some new characters to introduce to you.  The first character is Kanan, a cowboy Jedi who survived Order 66 and wields a blue lightsaber.  He seems to be the captain of the Ghost, a rebel ship that seems to be used for important missions.  The next character is Hera, the pilot of the Ghost.  She is a  Twi'lek and a ace pilot in the Rebel Alliance.  The next character is Zeb, the (smart) muscle of the Ghost crew.  He was trained as a guard on his home planet before joining the Rebel Alliance.  The next character is Sabine, the explosive artist, she is a mandalorian with pink armor and is also the weapon expert of the Ghost crew.  The last character is Ezra, a 14-year-old boy who is a con artist and has a high temper.  These are all the latest characters to the upcoming new show, Star Wars: Rebels.  Thanks for reading and stay tuned to more upcoming news on everything Star Wars.

Star Wars Time measurment

I looked some stuff up and found out that star wars time is almost like ours, but a little different.  Like our eras, we have B.C.E. (Before Common Era) and C.E. (Common Era), and for star wars, they also have eras, which are B.B.Y. (Before Battle Yavin) and A.B.Y. (After Battle Yavin), which I found very interesting.  Star wars also has measurements of time like us.

For us:
60 seconds = 1 minute
60 minutes = 1 hour
24 hours = 1 day
7 days = 1 week
28 days = 1 month
29 days = 1 month
30 days = 1 month
31 days = 1 month
365 days = 1 year

For Star Wars:
60 seconds = 1 minute
60 minutes = 1 hour
24 hours = 1 day
5 days = 1 week
7 weeks = 1 month
35 days = 1 month
369 days = 1 year
10 months + 3 festival weeks + 3 holidays = 1 year
